In today’s fast-moving cosmopolitan world, those who are far-sighted and enterprising, willing to work hard, take risks, and are determined to make it big, well, those are the people who eventually find themselves landing with a glorious thump at the door of Abba’s vaunted ‘rich man’s world’.

The eccentric Lady Gaga (real name Stefani Germanotta) truly has the world eating out of her hands. As a young girl, she had a precocious start, gaining early admission to NYU’s prestigious Tisch School of the Arts and later being signed to Def Jam Recordings when she was 19. After being dropped by the label, she was discovered again and signed to Interscope Records, where she spent some time writing songs for other artistes in the ilk of Britney Spears and Fergie. When Akon heard her sing, he quickly convinced Interscope to sign a joint deal, which also signed her to his label Kon Live Distribution. In 2008, she catapulted onto the scene with her debut album The Fame. Gaga’s aptly titled album has prophetically brought her even more fame. This year’s Forbes rankings reveal that she has leaped to No 4 on the 100 Most Powerful Celebrities list, with a salary of USD62 million (RM198 million)! Her 106-tour date alone raked in USD31 million (RM98 million) and her music video for ‘Telephone’ with Beyonce had 90 million views! With a combination of quirky, sometimes downright weird fashion choices and interesting tunes, she’s well on her way to staying at the top.

The flamboyant, stylish Cristiano Ronaldo is the world’s most expensive football player. He was brought up in Madeira, Portugal, the son of a cook and a gardener. As an 18-year-old, he was signed by Manchester United for a record £12.24 million (RM60 million) in 2003. He was a great success in United, receiving the FIFPro Special Young Player of the Year award in 2005 and the PFA Player’s Player of the Year and PFA Young Player of the Year, both in 2007. Also in 2007, he signed a 5-year, £120,000 (RM594,000) a week extension with United, officially making him the highest-paid player in team history. In 2009, Manchester United accepted a transfer bid worth £80 million (RM396 milion) from Real Madrid for Ronaldo. Ronaldo’s new contract with Real Madrid is worth 11 million euros (RM45 million) a year. That aside, the young Portuguese player also acts as the captain of his national team. Ray Ling is a Sarawakian-born lad from a humble background, who came to KL when he was 19 for his education. He decided to explore the direct sales line with a group of his classmates and got quite lucky, earning more than RM20,000 a month when he was just 21 years old! He bought his first Mercedes Benz when he was 23. But after being the victim of an attempted kidnap, his life spiraled downhill. His career suffered and he left for Taiwan for 2 years, where he fulfilled his dream of becoming a radio DJ. He came back to Malaysia when he was 25, but couldn’t find a job. He reached an all-time low when he couldn’t even afford food for himself. He ventured into network marketing again and turned his life around. In 2006, he broke the Malaysian record, having produced 7,000 agents and earned almost RM3 million in 2 years! 2 years later, he wanted to form his own direct sales company. Through a serendipitous meeting with a stranger who had read about him, he managed to buy a direct sales license for RM50,000 (worth RM1.5 million)! And the rest, as they say, is history. He formed IBC Group and within 3 months, his company’s turnover was up to RM1 million again. He was the youngest CEO of a direct sales company when he was 27 years old. After that, he started to form a lot of subsidiary companies – he now has 7! Ray says that his climb up the millionaire’s ladder reflects the words, “Every successful person has to experience being in the valley before they can reach the mountains.”

The effervescent, cherubic Ganesh Kumar Bangah has always been very enterprising. Whilst still at university when he was only 19 years old, he developed a cybercafe software programme, which he sold to 40 cybercafes but later let people download for free. He soon realised that he could turn those physical outlets into payment outlets where people could pay cash for their online transactions, specifically online games. He started MOL when he was 21, and became a millionaire at 23, when he listed his company! He also earned a Malaysia Book of Records award as the youngest CEO of a public listed company. Even though MOL was doing extremely well, Ganesh knew that MOL didn’t have much of a community, and fully acquired Friendster in December last year. Ganesh’s strategy is to turn Friendster into a social gaming destination – he didn’t buy Friendster to compete with Facebook, he bought it for its community and brand. These days, MOL is a mammoth money making machine, which generates a revenue of about USD105 million (RM350 million) per year, has over 115 million registered users through Friendster, over 540,000 physical retail payment channels across 80 countries and is connected to 88 online banks across 9 countries! Ganesh’s approach to his success is simple, “For better or for worse, I invest or re-invest in assets or businesses that add value.”

$ When he was at the Four Seasons in France, he spent RM3,000 on a meal for two. That’s his most expensive meal to date!

Rupert Grint
21, Harry Potter star

"I have no idea what I’m going to do with all this money."

Rupert Grint shot to fame after landing the role of Ron Weasley in the multi-million dollar Harry Potter film franchise. A big fan of the Harry Potter books, he won the part of Ron Weasley at the tender age of 11, by sending in a video of himself dressed up as his drama teacher and rapping about himself. He beat out 40,000 other applicants for the role. His first Harry Potter movie – Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, launched him and co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson into the big leagues even though none of them were even teenagers yet. Subsequent Harry Potter films have only added to Rupert’s wealth and he is estimated to have a personal fortune valued at £20 million (RM98 million) which will almost certainly swell tremendously until 2011 when the HP movies end. Ron does admit that he has more money than he knows what to do with, and when asked during an interview what he would do if acting roles dried up in the future and he had to go back to scratch, the laidback Rupert prosaically said, “I think I’ll be all right.” However, this is highly unlikely to be the case as Rupert is pipped to be the most successful of the HP kids, with directors like Martin Scorcese endorsing his star potential!

One of the most successful basketball players of all time, Kobe Bryant is 31 and still working his magic. The son of a former basketball player, Kobe spent most of his formative years in Italy where his dad played professional basketball. When he was 13, the family moved back to America and Kobe played high school basketball, earning a stellar reputation and playing all 5 positions. Upon his graduation, he eschewed a basketball scholarship and an education at an Ivy league university, and headed straight for the NBA. 17 at the time he signed with the LA Lakers, Kobe had to get his parents to co-sign the contract because he was too young. Joey Yap began his venture into Chinese astrology as a young university student in Curtin University, Perth, Australia. He attests that there was no special event that preceded this passion for astrology, he just became interested in it and started consulting. The sweet and friendly Nazreem Musa has always been into fashion. Something he picked up from “taking in a lot of cool stores around the world,” he says. When he studied in Parsons, Paris, he met loads of designers, and had the opportunity to go to fashion houses and see their collections for himself. That’s when he thought, “This is great! I want to bring this back to KL!” It took him a year to plan – he began when he was 20. He started going to Paris Fashion Week, London Fashion Week and Stockholm Fashion Week, where he met a lot of designers and then he divulged his plan to his mum, who said, “Okay, do this yourself. It’s your responsibility.” Nazreem confesses that he found it extremely difficult to convince the designers to let him bring their clothes to Malaysia. Still, he persevered and launched Musa at the beginning of this year, stocked with cult brands like House of Holland, Cheap Monday and Naked & Famous; with Musa Café berthed just next door to the boutique. Asked about the response to his store so far, Nazreem says, “It’s amazing!” He gets asked all the time why he decided to take the plunge at such a young age and says it was because he has always been ambitious, and has learned a lot from being a part of his mother’s multi-industrialist company. As the Managing Director of his mother’s company, Nazreem has his hands full, managing his boutique as well as the business. He sums up his foray into fashion by saying “I love what I do!”

台灣婚紗館上海開業林志穎任攝影師

【大紀元6月6日報導】知名台灣藝人林志穎今天現身上海，為好友開設的台灣絕色婚紗館開幕剪綵，林志穎並允諾在11月進棚，為一對來自杭州的新人擔任婚紗照攝影師。

台灣攝影業者絕色國際攝影跨入婚紗業，首家婚紗館今天在上海1933老場坊開業，作為絕色婚紗館的特約攝影師和佳賓，林志穎、鐘漢良等人參加了開幕剪綵儀式。

林志穎告訴中央社記者，他和絕色婚紗館董事長葉紹勛是多年好友，加上對攝影的熱愛，他將成為這家婚紗館的專屬攝影師。今天開幕不久，就有來自杭州的一對新人下了訂單，邀林志穎擔任攝影師。

林志穎透露，他將在11月選一天來為這對新人拍攝婚紗照，這是他第一次擔任婚紗照攝影師。

林志穎說，選在11月是因為這對新人明年才結婚，女方想把頭髮留長才拍婚紗照。他說，如果有影迷想要找他擔任攝影師，可以指定預約，不過要配合他的時間。

林志穎說，他18歲在台灣首度創業，就是在台北西門町、公館等地段開設了寫真照像館「always」 (直到永遠）。

林志穎說，他在學校時主修攝影，拍照攝影也一直是他的興趣，家裡有很多專業攝影器材，有朋友結婚他也都幫忙拍照，並剪接、配樂成DVD。

另外，林志穎說，今年是他出道第17年，他在大陸仍將以演藝事業為主，目前正忙於準備11月在大陸開巡迴演唱會。

林志穎說，去年他在上海虹口體育場舉辦的大陸首場演唱會，反應還不錯，有2萬5000名觀眾入場，讓他有信心舉辦下一場演唱會。

一、去黑头

1、用白糖洗脸对去黑色痘印非常有效

2、洗完脸不擦干，用细盐搓鼻子，可以去黑头

3、鼻子上的黑头用白煮蛋的蛋白来搓,会慢慢搓得很细很嫩,完全可以替代去死皮膏

4、祛黑头：一勺红糖加半勺蜂蜜磨鼻头一至两分钟，不可太久，然后洗掉。

严重的好象一星期两次，真的有用

5、去雀斑：把vc片捣烂用纯净水泡开涂脸上再用纸膜敷上就行了

二、去痘

1、红霉素软膏，治脸上开放性或者封闭性的痘痘比较管用。

因为含有抗生素，见效快，但不能长期使用

2、痤疮膏治疗痘痘抹平眼角小细纹无敌。

原理是痔疮膏的成分和眼霜成分相同，只是工艺和精细程度不同而已

3、脸上有小痘痘的TX，睡前抹一点点橄榄油上去，痘痘就会瘪了

4、金霉素眼药膏擦痘,脓很快就出来,挤之,世界清静了

5、平痘痘可以用珍珠粉，用一点纯净水或爽肤水把珍珠粉和成糊状，

点在痘痘上，第二天就好很多，而且不留痘印

四、嫩肤

1、仙人掌捣烂敷脸，有消炎嫩肤的作用。

但是仙人掌有很多种，要那种捣烂后黏糊糊的

2、面膜：美丽加芬家的酸奶面膜非常好用，

虽然99一袋比较贵，但是非常经用，可以用半年多（一个星期摸三次的话）。

如果头天熬夜睡眠时间很少，在睡之前抹点，第二天皮肤会比较好上妆，不会浮妆。

堅持用的可以使皮肤变好，更嫩。

3、冬天洗完澡，趁身体还是湿的涂上baby油然后再用毛巾搽干，皮肤就好嫩好滑~！

4、欧莱雅那个日夜纤体.两瓶那个,好用的，

对小腿特别有用.我去年用了，到现在小腿除了水肿的时候，

平时都很细了。大腿倒是没什么作用。

5、面膜，我推荐网络上的一款巨红无比的红酒面膜，

它家的红酒香皂用来洗脸简直滋润无比，我本来看着名气去的，

后来用了真的很好，牌子是自然美人。。。- -俗但是效果很好

6、氯霉素注射液擦脸可使皮肤平滑

7、酸奶+香蕉泥敷脸可以缩毛孔，超级有用

8、如果前夜用洗面奶洗了脸，第二天早晨就不要再用了，因为皮肤会分泌一种油脂，

这个事可以保护皮肤的，跟隔离霜似的，把它洗掉了皮肤容易进灰。

但是前提是前一天晚上洗过脸后只拍些爽肤水就可以了，不要擦护肤品。

没用过的且皮肤不好的TX坚持几天皮肤会明显变好哦

9、史上性价比最高的泡沫型洗面奶【雪肤莱】系列，4.9元120G。

沃尔玛有樱桃控油的和橄榄深层清洁的。

五、润肤

1、想要让脸立即水润起来，可以上网买天然海藻颗粒自己做面膜，

一包十来块可以做两个月了，效果也是立竿见影的哦~~！

2、西藏红花冰漾补水面膜，便宜啊，好用啊！

一般救急补水，非常非常的好用

3、每天早晨用豆腐摩擦面部几分钟，坚持一个月，面部会变得很滋润

4、防干燥的：晚上洗脸后用橙子涂脸上皮肤真的是水当当啊很舒服

六、控油

1、擦脸油：郁美净的儿童霜，我从小就用，

非常非常非常非常好用，皮肤嫩嫩的，刺激性小

（我有段时间是敏感皮肤，就用它家的舒服）。

但是夏天用有点油，适合除夏天以后的季节。当擦手油更好。

2、丝瓜水（我在淘宝上买的千纤草的，十几块500ml）

泡纸膜敷脸超级控油~~我这样的大油田敷完第二天早上起来一点都不油

七、去眼圈、眼袋

1、喝茶的时候一次泡个两袋，喝完了一边眼睛一个敷个20分钟，可以消眼袋和黑眼圈。

对大眼袋的人很有效，最好在起床的时候做，还有，最好是绿茶或红茶。

2、多吃番茄可以治黑眼圈，吃习惯了不管再熬夜再辛苦都绝对不会有黑眼圈也不会面有菜色。

不知道是VC在起作用还是别的元素。

3、据说苹果皮能够治眼部的脂肪粒用贴的这个我试过，黑眼圈也有效~~~

4、近视眼造成的眼睛突出，可以采用RGP眼镜来遏制，同时配合一种简单的按摩，

坚持一年，可以让眼睛恢复到正常的情况。

这种按摩就是把四个手指并起来，让前面一般齐，然后闭上眼睛，

八、睫毛

1、在眼睫毛根部抹鱼肝油可以刺激睫毛生长

2、睫毛用棉签蘸着VE涂睡前涂下然后睡觉效果很明显

3、眉毛淡而稀~生姜削成笔状天天涂一次会长浓

4、维生素E涂睫毛,睫毛会变得又粗又长

5、睫毛液干了倒不含酒精的柔肤水或婴儿油或眼药水

6、快干了的睫毛膏可以刷眉毛刷淡点可以固定眉形

7、涂增长睫毛的各种增长液也好，油也好，在晚上10点以后涂更有效，因为是睫毛生长的旺盛期。

另外，只涂在上半截就可以了，不要涂睫毛根，不然容易长脂肪粒哦。

涂到上半截液体可以顺着睫毛流到根部，但不会多到长脂肪粒哦！

8、说一个卷睫毛的妙方吧.呵呵.打火机几秒对准睫毛夹的铁质部分.

然后再夹已涂上睫毛膏的睫毛.效果不是一般地好哦.又自然又卷又翘！

9、剪去末梢，等长长了又剪，睫毛就会又浓又密又长。

九、头发

1、用藿香正气水洗头　头发会变好。啤酒洗头防干枯脱落

2、烫染受损的头发：用醋洗。

方法：用洗发水洗头冲净，用醋兑水（1：5左右）

浇头发，过5分钟冲掉，再上一些护发素冲洗。

效果非常好，头发就没有那么柴了，而且会变黑。

而且对染完红色头发的非常有用，染红色最后脱色成黄色，

如果用上面那个方法，就不会脱成黄色而是棕色的，发色比较自然。

3、临时染发剂：把稀释后的柠檬汁均匀喷在头发上，

吹风机热风吹干，头发会呈微酒红色，像染过一样哦

4、洗完头赶时间可以用毛巾包着头发整个吹，干得更快

5、用橄榄油护发，效果很好，注意，必须是100%橄榄油，

不能抹头皮上，然后当然是适量，发尾部分稍微多抹点，如果能用发帽什么的，效果更佳。

6、滋荣乌发蜜丸治疗头发早白；荣润生发蜜丸治疗脱发，效果都很好

7、洗头后要是头发没干就睡，第二天会头疼，

但是可以睡前用干毛巾或者别的什么把头包住，会很暖和，

第二天早上起来头也不疼，适合不喜欢用吹风机或当时条件不允许的情况下

1、有一个“二丫”的网站，专门交流化妆品的，很好用

2、嘴唇干裂：睡觉之前抹那种很油的唇膏，早上醒来就没事了~~

3、有个叫金霉素软膏的特别便宜的眼药，涂在脂肪粒上可以消脂肪粒

4、痤疮膏治疗痘痘抹平眼角小细纹无敌。

原理是痔疮膏的成分和眼霜成分相同，只是工艺和精细程度不同而已

5、画眼线用眼线液不好掌握的话,可以先用眼线笔画出大概的样子,

再用硬头的眼线液描一下,就会很顺手!

6、婴儿油可以用来卸妆，效果好又省钱

7、多收腹人的个子会长高

8、指甲油涂完后把指甲浸泡在冷水中，会干的很快速

（布城6日讯）美国国务卿希拉莉日前到访我国，让负责官方摄影的马新社摄影记者大开眼界，真正见识到这位先进国的领袖，如何杜渐防微，对每一个细节都做到完美的要求，而且她总懂得给予摄影师最好的镜头。

对这一位曾经担任伊拉克战地摄影记者的哈里沙兹曼来说，这次受委担任希拉莉访问大马期间的唯一官方摄记，让他看到这位来自美国的国务卿，对上镜的要求是多么地严谨，这值得其他国家领袖仿效，以便将最好的一面呈现在民众眼前。

各动作迎合镜头

哈里说，希拉莉的贴身随从在仪式开始前的几分钟，所作的种种动作，看来或许是琐琐碎碎，但这却显示了对镜头的要求，务必让他们的领袖以最好的姿态呈现在世人眼前。

“作为官方唯一的指定摄记，我事前已被召集参与会议，以商讨如何做好拍摄工作。”

“我也被预先告知说，这位前美国第一夫人在仪式当天会穿上什么颜色的服装，以便先准备好适合的镜头。”

哈里是负责周二（2日）在首相署进行的马美谅解备忘录签署仪式的拍摄工作。

“他们也询问我如何取得最好的拍摄角度，包括在签署仪式后的示意动作，是要从前面或是从旁拍摄。”

预先设好拍摄角度

“当我决定了所要的拍摄角度和位置，他们便直接在地上做了标记，这个标记是届时让希拉莉站立的位置。”

结果，在这些安排工作下，当天所拍摄的照片，都可以看到，比起其他人，希拉莉是以一副“精神奕奕”且“整齐”的姿态出现在照片中。

置国旗有大学问背景帘幕要深蓝

来自玻璃市州的哈里表示，就算希拉莉手握着文件夹时与其他人握手，也是一丝不苟的，就是要让照片上所见的她，是呈现一副“这是重要事务”的姿态。

哈里说，他也见识到美国的官员如何看重放置在希拉里身旁的国旗位置，他们会确保国旗看来予人一种“清新”及“有精神”的观感。

“他们在国旗内置放了别针，让国旗看来更整齐。此外，访客簿和备忘录的文件上也预先标明要签名的地方，让希拉莉可以干净俐落地签下大名。因此，希拉莉在签名时，便不需要由其他人来指出签名的地方。”

此外，场地的背景帘幕也是指定要深蓝色，不能有任何花纹、背景图案或文字。

哈里说，不用亮眼的颜色，是因为要避免出现拍摄时的光线干扰问题。

“他们对领袖的照顾周到，是值得我们思考的。就算是在签署两国航空合作的备忘录仪式上，桌上的飞机模型也是他们关注的一点。”

他说，有关官员有咨询他，放置飞机模型的最佳角度，之后便在位置上标记，以便在轮到相关的签署仪式时，可以直接把飞机模型放在已标记好的位置上。

懂得配合镜头照片似静若动

哈里说，令他感到赞叹的，是在拍摄希拉莉的一举一动的时候，希拉莉深深懂得给予摄影师最好的镜头！

“她给你的感觉是，在照片中的她虽然是静止不动的，但却给你一种‘生动活脱’的感觉。从举手投足、大方的笑容到温和的眼神，那颗蓝眼球都是对准了镜头！”

“我希望其他的国家领袖及官员们，都能仿效希拉莉和她身边的官员对镜头的要求。照片是拥有一定的冲击的，不是说‘一图胜千言’吗？”

Facebook no longer Valley's hot new young thing

SAN FRANCISCO - A year ago, when Facebook opened up its social networking site to software developers, it was Silicon Valley's hot new young thing.

After forming a developer's sandbox, where programmers were given free rein to play and create everything from inane applications like vampire biting, to useful ones such as finding friends you might know, Facebook's user base began to explode. It was the talk of the valley: Microsoft Corp. made an investment and even Google was jealous of the attention the company was getting.

But what a difference a year makes. As Facebook gears up to host its first big developer conference this Wednesday and a major revamp to its site, it is going through some growing pains. I also think Facebook has lost some of its buzz factor in the valley. Some also believe that its valuation on paper, once pegged at $15 billion, has notably declined.

And now, Facebook is also competing for attention from software developers entranced with Apple Inc.'s new, faster 3G iPhone and its application store. Some see a better way to make money, even at the low rates Apple charges for some mobile applications, ranging from 99 cents to $1.99 that users can download to the iPhone, while Facebook applications are for the most part free.

"There was a fascination with Facebook in the valley that hit its zenith last year," said Dave Sifry, founder and chief executive of OffBeatGuides.com, a new startup in San Francisco.

To be fair, the numbers so far tell a much different story, and seem to contradict me. Facebook seems to be on an unstoppable roll. In April, it narrowly surpassed MySpace (which, like MarketWatch is owned by News Corp. in terms of unique visitors worldwide, to become the world's largest social network, according to comScore data. In May, Facebook had an even stronger lead, with 123.8 million unique visitors, compared with 114.6 million at MySpace, which saw traffic decline slightly from the month before.

And therein lies one of the company's problems. The site's architecture is not dealing well with the massive increase in visitors and the growth in applications, some of which are viral and add to the problem.

"I have noticed a bunch of operational issues, including latency, pages not loading, basically inconsistent response times," said Ray Valdes, a Gartner analyst. "It is something that plagues social sites in general when they have high growth and they are rewriting their software continually."

Facebook, which at least manages to stay live but often becomes sluggish, recently got a new round of funding in the form of debt, which it plans to use to further build out its infrastructure.

The company also recently improved some controls that make it more difficult for applications to be spammed to friends, an additional processing burden to the site. Previously installing a viral application would send a spam e-mail to your friends, telling them you've added an application. Valdes said that some of these viral applications have resulted in some artificial growth, and he commended Facebook for dealing with them.

"They realized the gates were opened too wide," Valdes said. "They gave developers too much freedom to inflict their own agendas on users."

At the same time, Facebook has also made a few moves irking developers. For example, it copied some functions in Slide's "Top Friends" application, a move that reminded some of Apple and Microsoft in their more predatory forms. Slide, which is known for some of the most popular as well as annoying applications such as sheep throwing and poking, is also developing applications for the iPhone.

"Everyone wants to build an application now for the iPhone," said Mukund Mohan, an entrepreneur working on a startup in Palo Alto.

Salil Deshpande, a general partner with Bay Partners who leads its App Factory fund for Facebook developers, said if the company wants its social network to be a development platform, much like a computer or an operating system, it needs to behave like a platform company.

"This is more easily said than done," Deshpande said. "It took platform companies such as Microsoft, Apple, and Sun Microsystems, years to get this right."

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer pointed out recently that social networking companies tend to be faddish, and indeed, the past failures and travails of companies like Friendster, Tribe and others prove him correct. And Facebook, which was clearly last year's hot property, may have been usurped this year by Twitter, FriendFeed, and to some extent, the iPhone.

Facebook isn't going away anytime soon. Sudha Jamthe, who with a group of volunteers organizes the Bay Area Facebook Developer Meetup, said there is still magic in the air with Facebook. "The excitement among developers is still going on," she said.

Facebook still has the potential to become a big financial success, and perhaps an eventual public offering that could wake up the moribund IPO market. But the company needs to do more than just a cosmetic makeover to ensure that developers and its growing user base keeps going back, again and again.

New World Park

My last visit to Penang was mostly about visiting places to sample the famous hawker food.

While seeking local delicacies in this new tourist attraction spot namely New World Park (formerly was amusement park during 70's-80's but recently redeveloped by Robert Kwok's group), I spotted this restaurant logo!

Are you kidding me... KING?

At the shop front there's a very distinguished signage which will capture everybody's attention, you really can't miss it... Rou Gu Cha King!

For the uninitiated, the name is in mandarin stands for "Bah Kut Teh King" (hokkien) which is more recognisable for Malaysians... or would it be better if direct translation to "Pork Rib Tea"? :)

Impressive interior setting

Wow let finds out whether this restaurant is really-up-to-that-something or not, by being so daring to self-proclaim as King in this food heaven of Penang island...

The brand spanking new outlet is nicely setup and have a very "up-market" feel when you first step in.

They have outlet in China too...

The big wall poster inside the restaurant proudly boasted their flagship outlet is in Shanghai, and this Penang branch has been in business here since August 2007.

I hope to envisage their future expansion into the Central Region so that I can have more choices instead of the defacto traditional Klang's BKT in Klang Valley.

There is an obvious attempt to embellish the ordinary upon browsing at the huge varieties of BKT items they can offer... it's impressive especially when come to uniqueness on their key dishes!

To sum everything nicely, it is really a glorified BKT joint that deserves to carry the king title :)

Tea set making facility

Every table comes standard with a mini tea set making facility. All tea leaves are imported from China.

Here really can yum-cha... haha!

Wow sooner I realised that here can become a comfortable gathering place to enjoy premium chinese tea instead of the normal tea tarik session elsewhere!

Friendly & impeccable service

The waiter is quite friendly and has the courtesy to guide us through the menu, thus further making good recommendation on their few signature dishes.

Drinks are served promptly and the food came within minutes. I started to like the dining ambience here.

No joke... seriously there are so many varieties

I'm a real BKT lover however this is the first time when I come across so many varieties just on BKT alone in a food premise.

They have the original soup-based, dry, spicy, red-wine and many many other versions.

Abalone Rou Gu Cha

Even Abalone BKT...

The menu offers quite a variety of food and ingredients, but generally majority are pork items here.

There are of course bah kut teh, with well over a dozen of different pork intestines (kidney, ribs, fatty meat, liver etc), chicken, duck, vegetables, yam rice, porridge, noodle and even abalone to choose from.

The add-ons are charged accordingly to your order and cooked in your personal pot of serving.

Chicken Rou Gu Cha

Strong & flavourful thick soup

BKT is by default made with pork meat.

I am amazed by the nice aroma and flavour of the thick pork soup. The soup is served boiling hot in the claypot and with strong herbal smell.

However the above dish is a variant called Chick Kut Teh (Chicken Bone Tea) which surprisingly tastes equally good as compared to the traditional robust taste of pork.

Dry Rou Gu Cha

Dry ones is so special

You don't get to sample the Dry-version of BKT easily elsewhere, most premises may not have this item at all and perhaps some other BKT outlets may have this dish prepared and available during weekend only.

But to all BKT fans: here you can get Dry RGC everyday! It's very nice and special... it comes highly recommended from me on this wonderful dish!

Rou Gu Cha Wang Mian

This is their best dish so far, a dish not to be missed if you happen to visit this outlet!

It can't be wrong... Even before I stepped into this outlet, I would have guess this is their best selling item. The banner outside the restaurant says it all: 10,000 servings have been sold!

For the six of us, we ordered all the above dishes. You can choose to go for the flagrance yam rice (by paying extra RM1.50/bowl) instead of the plain steamed white rice.

The nestum-typed prawn is more of a fried mashed prawn paste, and the Chinese Pear Dumplings are deep fried with savoury filling, they all look so yummy!

My only regrets...

There is also the Special Red Wine BKT and the Spicy BKT which we wanted to order but was told both have been sold out for the day!

The restaurant supervisor told me these 2 dishes are unique which we can't find elsewhere and normally sold out very fast here, hence my curiosity grows greater and I decide to come back to patronise them again soon...

Not to forget I also look forward to try their Ginger Duck and Vinegar Pork Leg on my next visit.

10% Special Discount Promotion

We are glad that the bill is being given 10% discount. The supervisor mentioned that they are running the 10% discount promotion for all HSBC & Citibank credit-card holders, and 15% for Celebrity Fitness Club's customers.

He also happily exclaimed that up-to-date they have served more than 13,000 bowls of RGC Wang Mian (RGC Noodle) to their patrons in Penang, and the number is still growing fast!

Wonderful meal

Price wise, it is pretty reasonable and in line with most of the aircond F&B establishment in town, with charges of RM10-12 for a standard single portion to satisfy your taste bud and hungry soul.

Overall I find my meal is particularly rewarding and I have no hesitation to recommend RGC to all my friends (except my muslim buddies lah). It's worth the visit, please go and try it out one fine day to pamper your stomach :)

All food are very fresh and prices are reasonable as well.

We opt for the clear soup and tomyam soup, nicely separated by a partition ...
Both soup can be re-filled regularly, the waiter carry both pots around.

This is another side dish served outside the restaurant, there are also stay and desserts around...
I would say this is the best chicken wing so far I have tried in Klang Valley, I particularly like their special sauce :)

What is it so special?

As its name implies, the water is captured during spring time and stored nicely in a thermal bottle. The water is expensive as it's a product from France and French products are never cheap! People generally uses it when they feel dehydrated by spraying it onto the skin, however I think it works best if you can directly spray it into your mouth whenever you feel thristy!

Only available in Sasa, normal price at RM32.90 for a 500ml bottle. You might as well buy the 600ml mineral bottle from Giant which is cheaper at 50cents only, or else just go to any running tapwater will do :)

This is just another typical-case of business cum political fight in F&B industry. Ah Wong is manning Wong Kok while his brother Bosco controls Kim Gary. Both restaurnt chains are of HK-style.

It's not safe to dine at actual Wong Kok in HK. So many HK films have portrayed Wong Kok as gangster-paradise, hence it will not be peaceful to makan there. However over here in Wong Kok, the worst thing can happen is only to bite the hard-cooked lousy pork, at least don't have to bite the bullet :)

You can kill 2 birds at 1 go by getting to sample Shanghai cum Taiwanese food, or Taiwanese cum Shanghai food... just imagine how much you could have saved on airflight alone :)
